Session 2011-12
Earth Day -GD Goenka, Ghaziabad celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April, 2011. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the chief Guest Dr. Rashid Hasan, Director-Ministry of Environment and Forests. The school Principal and the Guest of Honor - Mr. Sanjay Goel planted tulsi saplings.
The students put up a very thought-provoking assembly to commemorate Earth Day. A soul-stirring song was sung by the school choir ‘Prithvi- Aarambh Se Ab Tak’ which touched the hearts of every one present followed by a dance-drama ‘Earth-The Big Bang'. Students portrayed the need to bring a radical change in our lifestyles in order to conserve our natural resources.
The function culminated with the pledge taken by the students to ‘Reuse and Recycle Paper’.
Mother's Day -G.D Goenka, Ghaziabad invited the mothers of the tiny-tots to celebrate Mothers' Day on 6th May, 2011. The school choir sang “Tu kitni Achi Hai…” that brought tears in everyone's eyes. Children performed a small skit to portray the love that mothers have for their children.
A self-composed song by our music trainer Ms. Jyoti “Meethi Loriyon Se Sulati” was sung by junior Goenkans in front of their Mothers which mesmerized the audience.

Investiture Ceremony -G.D.Goenka, Ghaziabad celebrated the Investiture Ceremony on 11May2011. The much awaited ceremony started with the lighting of lamp by our honorable guest Dr. B. S. Sahay (Director I.I.M, Raipur) followed by a melodious song “I have a dream.....” which was sung by the school choir. The music played by the band instilled pride in the students as they marched past the dias. A well synchronized fusion dance left the audience spell bound.
Badges were pinned by the honorable guests. With a sense of pride and responsibility the new perfects took their places on the podium and took an oath to be honest, dedicated & unbiased in carrying out their duties. Our respected Principal congratulated the new appointees.
After an enlightening speech of the chief guest, the vote of thanks was proposed by Pre-Primary Incharge Ms. Chhaya Singh. The occasion came to an end with the National Anthem.

Summer Camp -A well organized and supervised program for summer camp activities started on 16 May 2011 in the campus of G.D.Goenka Public, Ghaziabad. The three week camp is scheduled from 16th May 2011 to 3rd June 2011.
Goenkans will get hands on experience to explore their potential in various activities like Swimming, Lawn tennis, Basket Ball, Cricket, Soccer, Skating, Table Tennis, and Badminton. The activities are full of fun, adventure and discovery thus channelizing the boundless energy of children positively.
Outstanding playtime and sports facilities for campers will keep them excited throughout the camp period..
Session 2010-11
Mata Ki Chowki- The school invoked the blessings of Goddess Durga through Mata ki Chowki held on 2nd April, 2010, Prominent Bhajan Singer, Narendra Chanchal graced the occasion. His heart rending bhajans left everyone spell bound. Our chairman Shri N.P. Goel, Mr. Sanjay Goel and Mr. Rajeev Goel were present at this solemn occasion.
Orientation Seniors- The orientation for classes I-VII was conducted on 3rd April, 2010. The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Satinder Kumar, Director GD Goenka group of schools and Mr. Rakesh Bajaj G.D. Goenka,Vasant Kunj The parents filled up the Performa given by the class teacher like Medical Form, Personal Details, Transport Form etc. It was followed by lunch.
Orientation Juniors- The orientation for classes Pre-Nur, Nur & K.G. was conducted on 5th April, 2010. The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. D.M. Sharma, Principal GD Goenka Vasant Kunj addressed the parents. The parents filled up the Performa given by the class teachers. It was followed by lunch.
Academic Session- The 1st Academic session 2010-2011 of GD Goenka, Ghaziabad started on 7th April, 2010 amidst fervor and excitement. The children enjoyed their first day in school. The regular time-table was followed.
Earth Day Celebration- GD Goenka, Ghaziabad celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April, 2010. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. Rajneesh Dubey, IAS Officer and Guest of Honour Shri N.P. Goel, the school chairman. Around 100 students of class V, VI & VII presented a skit called ‘Parivartan’. Through a superbly choreographed dance drama title’Awakening’ students depicted Earth- as they visualized it, where 5 elements of nature were in complete harmony with each other.
Independence Day- GD Goenka, Ghaziabad celebrated it first Independence Day Assembly with great patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the chief guest- Mr. Hirdesh Kumar, D.M. Ghaziabad, Guest of Honour- Mrs. Meeta Rai, Principal D.P.S. Indirapuram and the honorable chairman Shri N.P. Goel. The students of class III and IV depicted the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters through a superbly choreographed dance drama ‘Aazadi Ke Diwane’
Raksha Bandhan- GD Goenka, Ghaziabad celebrated the festival of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ on 21st Aug, 2010. The Chief Guest for the occassion was Ms. Poonam Chaubey, Vice Principal, Amity School, Vasundhara. Students of K.G. presented the celestial bond of a brother and sister through a dance drama called ‘Anokha Bandhan’.
Janamashtami- Janamashtami will be celebrated on 10th September in the school. |
