Le Livre De La Jungle… A Tribute to Wildlife

“Humanity can no longer stand by in silence while our wildlife are being used, abused and exploited.

It is time we all stand together, to be the voice of the voiceless before it’s too late. Extinction means forever.” G D Goenka Public School, Ghaziabad presented their Annual Theatrical production Le Livre De La Jungle… a tribute to Wildlife on 16th February 2019 to spread the message of Human-Wildlife interaction. It was an earnest attempt to harness each Goenkan’s innate talent and competency which would further lead to build more advanced cognitive, intellectual, aesthetic and collaborative skills.

The junior students showcased their concern for animals and took a pledge to adopt, rescue and love wildlife forever. The little Goenkans in their beautiful attires and dances enacted, depicting that only when we learn to live in harmony with the nature, can we expect nature to behave in the manner that has been there for several hundred years, when humans indulge in affecting nature and its composition through deforestation and animal abuse, mankind will be forced to repent for generations. The chief Guest for the day was Ms. Asha Sharma, the sixth Mayor of Ghaziabad and the guest of honour was Ms. Bharati Sharma, Senior Director, Academics, G D Goenka Group, New Delhi. We also had honoured guests, Ms. Balvin Khandelwal (Director- Brightland School), Ms. Smita Singh (Regional Manager- UPSIDC), Dr. Sumit Gupta.

The event commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony ‘Deep Prajwalan’ followed by ‘Aahvahan’ invoking the blessings of the almighty and spreading the message that a strong ego can be held back by wisdom. This was followed by ‘Vimochan’-the release of the brochure depicting the sincere efforts of each budding soul and team Goenka . The primary choir- ‘Aarul’, presented songs in three languages viz. Hindi English and Hebrew depicting responsibility and ownership of our planet.

The Annual report down the Memory Lane- ‘Pratevedan’ was presented by the Goenkan younglings which gave an insight into the year that was joyful and jubilant learning at School. The School Principal Ms. Vandana Midha appreciated the efforts of the little students for taking a step towards inculcating a love for the world they live in. The presentation mesmerized the audience and the programme was extremely appreciated by all.
